Running is the one of the best aerobic exercise which has so many benefits to the human body. its that kind of accessibility that makes running one of the best workouts.''you need a pair of decent shoes, some creativity and maybe a friend or two to develop a walking or running plan", says Daniel O'Connor , PH. D.,professor of health and human performance at the University of Houston. "It's less expensive than having a gym or a personal trainer."
When i started my fitness journey running was one of the hardest exercise for me, I clearly remember feeling so weak and miserable that i could not run. I was constantly out of breaths when i just started to run and i felt so heavy because I could not control myself in so many ways. So as days went by I decided that i am going to challenge myself and i will start running no matter what i have to do, i started jogging for 3 minutes then rest for 1 minute then repeat that until i finish my 30 minutes cardio, then every week I gradually increased my time and speed tp jog until now i can say that i am so proud of myself. i could conquer and challenge me and i love the feeling of my body after a run. So in short this is how i challenged myself and found my passion to running.
Running is a great way to release stress, changing your mood and improve your heart health. I also understand that running has helped me to stay focused because i need to stay focused to control breathing, my heartbeat and for that i automatically tune out from all distractions. I realized that since I started running my mind has become more sharp in my tasks and also in solving my problems. In my opinion running is my second go to meditation, when I feel that i need to detox my mind i would just go for a quick run and feeling refreshed when done.
According to research running is also one of the great way to overcome depression. When your in this kind of situation metabolic processes in your liver convert the amino acid tryptophan into a molecule with the mumble-inducing knyurenine. Some of that Knyurenine finds its way into your brain, where its accumulation has been strongly associated with stress-induced depression , anxiety disorders and schizophernia. AND thats when running comes into the rescue from all these tensions.
Another good benefit is that running will help you build strong muscles to maintain an optimal body fat composition. We all know that aerobic activity is good for the heart, so its no surprise that running can improve cardiovascular fitness. In general , the . more people run, the healthier their hearts tend to be. But you can get big benefits without having to do a lot; running just five minutes per day could add years to your life, according to a study in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
Last but not least running can be an effective form of exercise when you are trying to lose weight. Running not only burns calories effectively, but it also builds strength and endurance. I will advice you to combine a consistent running plan with strength training and healthy eating slim down and increase your level of fitness. That said, a Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise study found that runners lost more weight than walkers over a six-year period, possibly because of the afterburn effect. "Running at high intensity will create an afterburn, which is when your body continues to burn calories when you're no longer moving ." Rubin says USAT Level I triathlon coach and studio manager of Precision Running Lab at Equinox in Boston. She suggests starting with three 30- minutes run a week, sprinting for 30 seconds then recovering for 30 seconds to a minute.
My advice to you is try to push yourself to run and don't think too much just enjoy it, work your way up by running regularly at least 3 times a week. Then it will start to feel more natural and this will be the best workout for your body.
